Short bio
I have been a professor at La Plata Nacional University (UNLP) since 1992 and have also been working for LIFIA since 1988. Nowadays, I am a member of its board of directors.
I graduated as Licentiate in Computer Science in 1992 and obtained a PhD in Computer Science at Université Henry Poincaré-Nancy I (France) in 2005.
I am the author of more than 50 research articles mainly in the area of Hypermedia, Object-Oriented Programming, Data Bases and Knowledge Management. At the moment, I am leading a research group which is working in the field of CSCW and Semantic Web. Furthermore, I actively participate in scientific events as a member of the conference program committee, workshops and as a reviser of some journals.
Research interest
I am mainly concerned with the area of CSCW, particularly with its knowledge-management application, focusing on the collaborative activity carried out when a shared knowledge repository is built. Its main function is the edition of knowledge repositories and support of the knowledge divergence, as confirmed by her numerous publications. One of my major achievements have been the development of Co-protégé, a groupware tool for the collaborative design of ontologies. I am currently doing research in the area of Semantic Web and its application in the area of CSCW, such as semantic wikis and peer-to-peer portals.
